On the Rubber Duck

Rubber ducks will be capable, within twenty years, of doing any work that a duck can do.

 But they won't have souls. 

 Will they know that? 

 Will they know they're not real ducks? 

 Or maybe they will be real. Maybe they will have souls. Maybe they'll be capable of love. 

 I don't know. And that scares me.
